Abstract

Jagung pipilan merupakan jagung yang telah mengalami pemisahan antara biji dan tongkolnya. Berdasarkan prasurvei dengan petani jagung pipilan yang telah dilakukan, permasalahan yang terjadi di Nagari Aie Tajun lainnya adalah penggunaan pupuk yang belum sesuai anjuran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survai dengan analisis data deskriptif kualitatif dan analisis data kuantitatif. Metode Pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Pengumpulan data dilapangan dengan melakukan wawancara langsung kepada petani responden. Alat untuk pengumpulan data yaitu kuesioner. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 30 orang. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa petani responden jagung pipilan dalam melakukan budidaya jagung pipilan belum terlaksana sesuai anjuran, hal ini dikarenakan petani jagung tidak memiliki pedoman. Sehingga produksi petani belum mencapai potensi hasil jagung pipilan kering. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa usahatani jagung pipilan yang dijalankan petani responden menguntungkan.
