Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan ketersediaan, akses informasi dan mengetahui hubungan antara ketersediaan informasi dengan akses informasi petani jagung di Nagari Koto Baru Kecamatan Luhak Nan Duo Kabupaten Pasaman Barat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dimana dalam pengambilan data menggunakan metode survei. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah accidental sampling dan alat analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Ketersediaan informasi petani jagung di Nagari Koto Baru yang diukur melalui sumber informasi dan ragam informasi berada pada kategori sedikit. Dan untuk akses informasi petani jagung di Nagari Koto Baru yang diukur dengan dua indikator yaitu intensitas informasi dan frekuensi informasi berada pada kategori rendah. Berdasarkan hasil korelasi rank spearman didapat hasil Terdapat korelasi yang signifikan antara peubah ketersediaan informasi dan akses informasi. Apabila ketersediaan informasi petani rendah, maka akses informasi petani akan semakin rendah secara siginifikan. Sebaliknya, apabila ketersediaan informasi petani tinggi, maka akses informasi petani akan semakin tinggi secara signifikan.Dari hasil penelitian disarankan untuk meningkatkan penyebaran informasi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan informasi petani

This study aims to describe the availability, access to information and find out the relationship between the availability of information with information access to corn farmers in Nagari Koto Baru, Luhak Nan Duo District, West Pasaman Regency. The research method used in this study is descriptive in which the data collection using survey methods. The method used in sampling in this study was accidental sampling and the analytical tool used was quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the availability of information on corn farmers in Nagari Koto Baru as measured through information sources and various types of information were in the small category. And for access to information on corn farmers in Nagari Koto Baru, measured by two indicators, namely the intensity of information and frequency of information are in the low category. Based on the Spearman rank correlation results, there is a significant correlation between the variables of information availability and information access. If the availability of farmers 'information is low, then farmers' access to information will be significantly lower. Conversely, if the availability of farmer information is high, then access to farmer information will be significantly higher. From the results of the study it is recommended to increase the dissemination of information in accordance with farmers' information needs
